no poder vs. poder no


Cada día un poco de práctica (Every day a little practice):

no poder = cannot/can't

poder no = can not

Ejemplos (Examples):

1) No puedo ir a la reunión (No estoy en capacidad de asistir a la reunión) = I cannot go to the meeting (I am not able to attend the meeting)

2) Puedo no ir a la reunión (Puede ser que vaya o puede ser que no vaya) = I can not to go to the meeting (I might go or I might not go)

Otro ejemplo (Another example):

1) Ella no puede hablar ruso = She cannot speak Russian

2) Ella puede no sólo hablar inglés sino también español = She can not only to speak English but also Spanish / She can speak not only English but also Spanish
