Verbo + a


Cada día un poco de práctica (Every day a little practice):

Verbo + a

Verbo ‘ir’

Ir + a + verbo en infinitivo

Ejemplos:
Voy a comer = I am going to eat
El niño va a dormir = The child goes to sleep

Ir + a + lugar

Ejemplo:
Pedro va a (la) casa de su tío (‘la’ se puede omitir) = Peter goes to the house of his uncle ('la' can be omitted)

Ir + a + tiempo

Ejemplo:
Rafael va a las 4:00 pm = Rafael is going at 4:00 pm

Otros verbos similares a ‘ir’: ‘llegar’ y ‘venir’.

Verbos ‘llevar’ y ‘traer’

Llevar/traer + a + personas/mascotas

Ejemplos:
Miguel lleva a su hija a la escuela = Michael takes his daughter to school
Ana lleva al perro al veterinario (al = a el) = Ana takes the dog to the vet

Llevar/traer + animales/cosas

Ejemplos:
Luisa trae una tortuga en la caja = Luisa brings a turtle in the box
Tomás lleva los paquetes a la cocina = Thomas takes the packets to the kitchen

Otros verbos similares a ‘llevar’ y ‘traer’: cargar, dormir, enviar, escribir, mantener, poner y muchos más.
