ser operado = ser sometido a cirugía = to be operated = to have surgery

quirófano = sala de operaciones = operating room (American) = operating theatre (British)

Diálogo (Dialogue)
A: El doctor operará en aquella sala de operaciones = The doctor will operate in that operating room
B: ¿A quién? = Whom?
A: A Juan. Juan será operado en ese quirófano = John. John will be operated in that operating theatre
B: ¿Quirófano? = Operating theatre?
A: Sí. Juan será sometido a cirugía en esa sala de operaciones = Yes. John will have surgery in that operating room
