tan como – tanto como

Cada día un poco de práctica (Every day a little practice):

tan como – tanto como

tan … como = as … as

Ejemplos:
Esta casa es tan vieja como esa = This house is as old as that one
Ella puede hablar en español tan rápido como en inglés = She can speak in Spanish as fast as in English

tanto como = as much as = both … and

Ejemplos:
Ella puede hablar en español tanto como en inglés = She can speak Spanish as much as English = She can speak both Spanish and English
A ella le gusta el helado de chocolate tanto como el de vainilla = A ella le gustan ambos, el helado de chocolate y el de vainilla = She likes chocolate ice cream as much as vanilla = She likes both, chocolate and vanilla ice cream

No es necesario que las palabras "tanto" y "como" estén siempre juntas [It is not necessary that the words "tanto" and "como" are always together]

Ejemplo:
A ella le gusta el helado de chocolate tanto como el de vainilla = A ella le gusta tanto el helado de chocolate como el de vainilla
