Cada día un poco de práctica (Every day a little practice):
contra viento y marea - contra todo pronóstico
contra viento y marea = against all odds
(Queriendo decir: a pesar de todos los obstáculos = Meaning: In spite of all obstacles)
Ejemplo:
Rosa tuvo muchos problemas familiares este año, pero, contra viento y marea, se graduó con honores = Rose had many family problems this year, but, against all odds, she graduated with honors
contra todo pronóstico = against all odds
(Queriendo decir: a pesar de que parecía imposible = Meaning: Even though it seemed impossible)
Ejemplo:
Este perro llegó casi moribundo al albergue, pero, contra todo pronóstico, ahora está muy saludable = This dog came to the shelter almost dying, but, against all odds, it is now very healthy
