Cada día un poco de práctica (Every day a little practice):

Si + ... verbo en pasado de subjuntivo ... , verbo en condicional de indicativo ... (Si (If) + ... verb in past subjunctive ... , verb in conditional indicative)

Si + ... verbo en pasado de subjuntivo ... , verbo en pasado de subjuntivo ... (Si (If) + ... verb in past subjunctive ... , verb in past subjunctive)

Ejemplos:

1a) Si tuviera/tuviese la llave, abriría esa puerta (If I had the key, I would open that door) [la mejor escogencia (the best choice)]

1b) Si tuviera/tuviese la llave, abriera esa puerta (If I had the key, I opened that door) [posible, pero no la mejor escogencia (possible, but not the best choice)]

2a) Si hubieras/hubieses llegado temprano, habrías comido helado. (If you had arrived early, you would have eaten ice cream.) [la mejor escogencia (the best choice)]

2b) Si hubieras/hubieses llegado temprano, hubieras comido helado. (If you had arrived early, you had eaten ice cream.) [posible, pero no la mejor escogencia (possible, but not the best choice)]
