por ningún motivo/en ningún caso

Cada día un poco de práctica (Every day a little practice):

por ningún motivo/en ningún caso = on no account/under no circumstances

Ejemplo:

Por ningún motivo se permitirá la venta de bebidas alcohólicas en la feria.
(On no account will it be allowed the sale of alcoholic beverages at the fair.)

sube la bandera / la bandera sube

Cada día un poco de práctica (Every day a little practice):

sube la bandera / la bandera sube

Sube la bandera = Sube (tú) la bandera
(Raise the flag = Raise (you) the flag)

Es una orden usando el imperativo.
Otro verbo que se puede usar (más específico) es "izar".
Iza la bandera.
(It is a command using the imperative.
Another verb that can be used (more specific) is "izar" = to hoist.
Hoist your flag.)

Como la bandera no puede subir por sí misma, para decir 'la bandera sube' tendría que ser algo como:
Ej. la bandera sube atada al dirigible.
(Since the flag cannot rise by itself, to say 'la bandera sube' it would be something like:
Ex. The flag rises attached to the airship.)

Pero se puede decir:
La bandera es subida todos los días = La bandera se sube todos los días (aquí la forma reflexiva equivale a la forma pasiva) = a la bandera la suben todos los días
(But we can say:
The flag is raised every day = The flag is raised every day (here the reflexive form is equivalent to the passive form) = They raise the flag every day)

borrón y cuenta nueva = clean slate (a fresh start)

Ejemplo:

Tomás se mudó a otra ciudad y cambió de trabajo. Esto será borrón y cuenta nueva para él.
(Thomas moved to another city and changed jobs. This will wipe the slate clean for him.)

Indicativo vs. Subjuntivo

When you have certainty (positive or negative), use the indicative.
When in doubt, use the subjunctive.

Verb: to rain
Will it rain tomorrow?

It will not rain (future indicative)
Maybe it does not rain (present subjunctive)

Verb: to know
Will we know the answer tomorrow?

We will not know (future indicative)
We may not know (present subjunctive)

Verb: to get to know
Will you get to know of his arrival?

I will (future indicative)
Maybe I get to know (present subjunctive)

Verb: to arrive
Will the package arrive soon?

Yes, it will (future indicative)
Maybe it arrives (present indicative)
Maybe it arrives (present subjunctive)

lento / lentamente / despacio

Cada día un poco de práctica (Every day a little practice):

lento / lentamente / despacio

Pedro es lento haciendo este trabajo.
(Peter is slow doing this work.)
Juan come lentamente.
(John eats slowly.)
Juan come despacio.
(John eats slowly.)

Lento es un adjetivo que se puede convertir en adverbio al añadir la terminación -mente (lentamente). Despacio ya es un adverbio y no necesita conversión.
('Lento' (slow) is an adjective that can be turned into an adverb by adding the ending -mente (-ly in English) (lentamente = slowly). 'Despacio' (slowly) is already an adverb and needs no conversion.)
